Betsy & Charley had a wonderful wedding day! The ceremony was at St Martin’s By the Lake Church in Minnetonka Beach. The reception was at Woodhill Country Club in Wayzata, Minnesota.

Some weddings are not only gorgeous — they are touching, joy-filled celebrations of two people whose love fills every room they step into. Betsy and Charley’s wedding day was that to the nth degree. With an heartfelt ceremony at the charming St. Martin’s By the Lake Episcopal Church in Minnetonka Beach and a beauty of a reception at the sophisticated Woodhill Country Club in Wayzata, Minnesota, their day was the perfect combination of grace, tradition and celebration.

There was a quiet buzz in the air from the start of the day, that stitch you get from a long time love and friendship and a whole lot of planning for forever. Betsy and her bridesmaids got ready in a spacious suite full of sunlight, laughter, and happy tears. She was just so radiant — the dress was timeless, the smile was illumination, and the spirit seemed to radiate joy.

Meanwhile, across town, Charley and the groomsmen had their own pre-ceremony moments, with brotherly love, nostalgia, and playful antics. He was pumped to see Betsy and together they were electric and perfect for framing in the day ahead!

The ceremony was held at St. Martin’s By the Lake Church, an intimate, peaceful setting just a stone’s throw from Lake Minnetonka. The church provided the perfect setting for an intimate and solemn celebration surrounded by stained glass windows and complete with a beautiful lakeside obligation. The room was filled with emotion as Betsy walked down the aisle. Charley’s eyes sparkled when he saw her — a thousand words of pure love and admiration.

Soft music played, through the warm light filtering in through the windows and the peaceful setting, he already felt as though time had slowed just for them.

After the ceremony, it was off to the pretty Woodhill Country Club in Wayzata for the reception. Famous for amazing vistas, luxe interiors and a polished atmosphere, Woodhill set the stage for a beautiful and luxurious evening of party-going. The club’s timeless charm and stunning grounds complemented Betsy and Charley’s classic style perfectly.

The Decor The reception was OUTSTANDING! From the lush florals, to the candle-lit tables, and well-thought-out details, everything truly was a reflection of the couple and their style. It was an evening featuring great food and drink, lovely toasts, and a party that struck just the right balance between formal and relaxed.

A highlight of the evening was the couple’s first dance, graceful, romantic and full of feeling. And also the dance floor lit up immediately when friends and family took the floor to support a love that was shared by everyone in the room. The spirit was lively, the laughter was real, and the night played out with a sense of both formal grace and intimate warmth.

We were so honored to film Betsy and Charley’s wedding as a wedding filmmaker. Their love is genuine and unwavering, and their wedding day was an accurate representation of the life they have created, and the future they are embarking towards. From the lakefront ceremony to the festive great house at Woodhill, every detail was meaningful.
