Chris & Sara had a wonderful wedding day on 10/24/2015. The wedding was at the Minikahda Club in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Some wedding days just manage to embody everything you love about love — beauty, emotion, laughter, the warmth that comes from being surrounded by family and friends. Chris and Sara’s gorgeous Minikahda Club wedding in Minneapolis, MN on October 24th, 2015 was just that. It was a wedding that exulted in deep connection, elegant style and that exuberant joy that fills every quarter it encounters.
There was an energy in the atmosphere from the early light of day. Sara spent the morning with her girls, a heap of smiles, stories and a couple of teary embraces. Her classic, elegant gown matched her high-spirited energy — and there was a sparkle in her eyes as she looked toward the moment when she would say “I do.”
Meanwhile, Chris got ready with his groomsmen in a laid-back, fun environment. It was reading that letter from Sara as he put on his cuff links that he realized the magnitude of the day that faced him. And his face bore that unmistakable cocktail of unflappable confidence and heart-on-sleeve feeling, that of a groom who was about to take the person he loved the most in the world to be his wife.
The service itself was conducted indoors and the backdrop was a warm, cozy interior of the club. When Sara walked down the aisle, the room went silent. Chris gazed into her eyes, and there was no doubt for anyone in that very moment how much they loved each other. There was nothing loving and strong in the spoken vows — nothing about friendship, partnership, decades’ worth of hopes and dreams.
There was laughter, a side-eye or two, and the added support from all the ones that had assembled to bear witness to their union. It was a celebration of more than just marriage, but their connection with one another — solidified by respect, shared adventures, and the ability to love unconditionally.
The reception area looked gorgeous and guests went in after the ceremony. Classic Minikahda Club was given a romantic touch with beautiful decor and florals, as well as candlelight throughout, and a dreamy color palette. Every detail was infused with the couple’s style: classic, elegant and filled with heart.
The reception was full of great moments — from the couple’s grand entrance to their emotional first dance, and all the touching toasts from loved ones who have been witness to their relationship over the years. The toasts included endearing memories, funny anecdotes and genuine love, and seemed to express a love that everyone who knows the bride and of the groom adore definitely shares.
Throughout the rest of the night, the dance floor became crowded with revelry. There was laughter, music, and people of all ages were having fun. The energy was electric, the love was plentiful, and the happiness was tangible.
As wedding filmmakers, we’re always searching for the story beneath the story — the little moments that tell you everything. Chris and Sara had plenty of them that day. The quiet smiles.
